Luca, a young photography student, arrives in a small village in Asturias to develop an artistic project and reconnect with his roots. He stays with Xuan, an ageing cheesemaker whose reserved personality hides a past marked by silence and prejudice. Through Luca’s camera and their growing connection, the two men begin to rediscover memory, desire, and belonging. Through quiet gestures and shared gazes, they uncover unexpected emotional connections across generations.

Roberto F. Canuto and Xu Xiaoxi are Spanish-Chinese filmmakers working between Europe and Asia. Their films exploring identity, memory and LGBTQ+ themes have screened internationally, including at Raindance, Seminci and Outfest. Their award-winning short Sunken Plum, about a trans woman in China, premiered in more than 50 countries.
